美濃・土岐にお住まいの水野さんの愛車は、2006年式のG500L。

ボディカラーはポルシェのオリジナルカラー 「NATO Olive」 へコンバージョンし、内装もそれに合わせてトータルコーディネート。さらに460ルックへのコンバージョンを施すなど、細部に至るまで徹底的にこだわり抜かれています。

オーナーの美意識と、それを形にするファクトリーの確かな技術。その両者が見事に融合し、唯一無二の存在感に仕上がったGクラスです。

ヴィンテージ・シトロエンを所有する水野さんが次に求めたのは、ご家族を安心して乗せられる一台。そして何より、息子さんに「本当に良いもの」「長く愛されるもの」に触れ、感じてもらいたいという想いから、このG500Lを選ばれました。

CRANKのイベントで偶然出会ったことが、この一台とのご縁の始まりでした。

今回の取材では、水野さんの親友であり、陶芸家の近藤裕久さんの窯元を訪問。

豊かな自然に囲まれた工房で、作陶の工程や薪窯について説明を受けながら、美濃という土地が育んできた文化と、ものづくりへの想いに改めて触れる時間となりました。

同じくクルマを愛する二人が、Gクラスを眺めながら語り合う時間は尽きることがありません。

その穏やかな時間から伝わってきたのは、「子どもに本物を見せ、本物を体験させたい」という水野さんのまっすぐな想いでした。

このG500Lは、単なる移動手段ではありません。

家族との時間を重ね、かけがえのない体験を積み重ねていくための一台。

これからこのGクラスとともに刻まれていく新たな物語が、とても楽しみです。

Mizuno-san, who lives in Mino, Gifu, chose this 2006 Mercedes-Benz G500L as a vehicle to share with his family for years to come.

Its body has been refinished in Porsche’s original NATO Olive, while the interior has been completely reimagined to match. Combined with a meticulous W460-style conversion, every detail reflects an uncompromising vision.

The result is a truly one-of-a-kind G-Class—where the owner’s refined taste and the craftsmanship of the factory come together in perfect harmony.

Already the owner of a classic Citroën, Mizuno-san was searching for something different: a vehicle that would provide safety and comfort for his family, while also giving his son the opportunity to experience what genuine craftsmanship and timeless quality truly mean.

His encounter with this G500L began by chance at a CRANK event.

For this feature, we visited the pottery studio of his close friend, ceramic artist Hirohisa Kondo.

Surrounded by the rich natural landscape of Mino, we learned about the pottery-making process and the traditional wood-fired kiln, gaining a deeper appreciation for the culture and craftsmanship that have been nurtured in this region for generations.

As fellow automotive enthusiasts, the two friends spent hours admiring the G-Class and sharing stories.

What left the strongest impression was Mizuno-san’s sincere belief that children should have the opportunity to see authentic things, experience authentic craftsmanship, and develop an appreciation for quality that lasts a lifetime.

For him, this G500L is far more than a means of transportation.

It is a companion for creating lasting family memories and sharing meaningful experiences together.
